In this Privacy Policy, ‘us,’ ‘we,’ or ‘our’ means OptimaGeeks. ChronoPulse is designed from the ground up as a privacy-first Chrome extension. We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring complete transparency regarding how data is handled.

By using ChronoPulse, you agree to the collection and local processing of data in accordance with this policy.

100% Local Storage Architecture

ChronoPulse operates entirely within your web browser using browser-native APIs (IndexedDB and Chrome Storage API).

  • Zero Cloud Servers: No website visit logs, time records, screen snapshots, or video recordings are ever uploaded to any cloud server or external database.
  • Zero Analytics/Tracking Scripts: ChronoPulse contains zero telemetry, third-party analytics scripts, or behavioral trackers.
  • Local Encryption & Control: Your tracking logs, screenshots, and screen recordings remain exclusively stored on your personal physical device.

What Data Does ChronoPulse Process Locally?

ChronoPulse processes the following information strictly on your local device:

  • Website Time Tracking Logs: Active tab domain names, page titles, and duration counters to generate your productivity statistics.
  • Screen Snapshots: PNG image files of your browser window taken at interval or random delay settings configured by you.
  • Screen & Audio Video Recordings: WebM video files recorded locally via your browser MediaRecorder API (including optional microphone and system audio).
  • Focus & Settings Preferences: Configured domain blocklists, Pomodoro timer durations, site limits, and theme preferences.

Permissions Requested & Why

  • tabs / activeTab: To detect active tab URLs and page titles for real-time domain time tracking.
  • storage / unboundedStorage: To store your browsing logs, screenshots, and recordings in IndexedDB locally.
  • desktopCapture / tabCapture: Needed only when you explicitly start an HD screen recording session.
  • notifications: Used for Eye Care (20-20-20 rule) reminders and daily site time limit alerts.

Data Export & Permanent Deletion

You retain full ownership and control over your data at all times:

  • ZIP & JSON Export: You can export complete project sessions (containing summary JSON, activity CSVs, PNG screenshots, and WebM videos) to your local disk at any time.
  • Instant Deletion: Deleting screenshots, videos, or session logs in the dashboard immediately removes them from your local browser storage.
  • Uninstall Erase: Uninstalling the ChronoPulse extension automatically wipes all stored data from your device.
