Quick Shots Extension

At OptimaGeeks, we respect your privacy. Quick Shots is built to capture screenshots and record your screen with a strict local-first philosophy. Below is details on what information the extension accesses, how it is handled, and your choices.

What Data Does the Extension Access?

Quick Shots accesses the following information solely to provide its core screen capture and recording functionality:

  • Screen and Tab Content: When you initiate a capture or recording, the extension accesses the selected browser tab, application window, or screen to create the media.
  • Audio Input (Optional): If microphone audio is enabled, the extension accesses the device microphone only while recording is in progress.
  • Camera Input (Optional): If webcam overlay is enabled, the extension accesses the device camera only while recording is in progress.
  • Local Storage: Your preferences and extension configurations are stored locally inside the browser using standard Chrome Storage APIs.

How Is This Data Used?

The accessed data is used exclusively to:

  • Capture screenshots requested by the user.
  • Record screen videos requested by the user.
  • Include microphone audio and webcam overlay when explicitly enabled.
  • Save screenshots, recordings, and settings.

The extension only captures content after you explicitly initiate a screenshot or recording action.

Data Sharing and Storage

  • Zero Server Tracking: No screenshots, recordings, audio, or video are collected automatically or transmitted to our servers.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: No data is ever sold, shared, or transferred to third parties.
  • Local Storage: All captured files remain on your device unless you explicitly export or save them to your local folders.

User Consent & Control

Quick Shots only accesses your screen, microphone, or camera data after you explicitly initiate a capture and grant browser permissions.

You can stop all data collection at any time by:

  • Stopping an active recording session.
  • Revoking browser permissions in your Chrome settings.
  • Disabling or uninstalling the extension.
